Personalized admissions process

We ensure that the recovery process is tailored to fit individual needs.

A phone triage

Our admissions process begins with a phone call. Palmer Lake admissions coordinators are available around the clock to answer calls from those struggling with addiction or loved ones who have family members or friends struggling. During this initial call, coordinators will complete a brief and confidential survey for the patient.

Survey questions are meant to help admissions coordinators ensure that the person meets the facility’s eligibility criteria. The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake is an acute facility, so it provides a level of care that might not be right for everyone. These questions are meant to help coordinators ensure that those who come to the facility are in the right spot, prepared to get the help they need.

An in-depth assessment

We support integrated assessment, as defined by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. That means each patient goes through an intensive screening process with a counselor, including:

  • Spotting a mental illness or ruling out a co-occurring disorder
  • Finding out how willing the person is to make changes
  • Defining the strengths the person has, when it comes to recovery
  • Identifying issues that could stand in the way of recovery

Once screening is complete, therapy teams can develop a comprehensive treatment program that addresses the strengths and challenges faced on the road to recovery.

You’re not alone. Let us help.

Thank you Recovery Village at Palmer Lake for giving me the opportunity to take back my life and giving my family back their mother and wife.If you want a safe and highly professional program to help you understand your addition and implement the recovery tools you need to survive this confusing and devastating illness, you need to look NO FURTHER.Full disclosure: I’ve been to other treatment programs and all of them were helpful. However, there was something missing. I didn’t know exactly what until these past 45 days at Recovery Village at Palmer Lake. I received a new level of education, trauma therapy, meditation and mindfulness skills, plus yoga and so very much more. I also must mention the unlimited access to a full contingent of licensed medical professionals. The flow of treatment is perfect. Beginning with a thorough medically supervised detox, all encompassing inpatient program, with the (imperative option in my opinion) of Intensive outpatient program with a thoroughly detailed after care plan. The staff here has a very unique combination of passion, expertise and unparalleled professionalism. All without ever neglecting the sensitive nature we addicts and alcoholics arrive on their doorstep with.Personally, my past included some significant trauma events. I really was unaware of how much impact this “old history” had on my life and my inability to stop my use of substances. But they knew and they encouraged me to address this, and made it safe for me to do so. Not everyone has big traumatic events in their past, but the small things that we brush off as insignificant can turn out to be really important. This is a first class treatment program that I would highly recommend to anyone suffering from the misery this disease brings. Hope is real and attainable.I have an honest fear of failing but I absolutely know that I have the tools, resources and an in-depth plan. If I follow it, I WILL NOT relapse. Palmer Lake made sure that I’m prepared for life with the support in place to thrive.Sincerely,AllisonPS: Life can be fun sober! Thank you Sonny, Ashley, Amanda, Amanda, Cindy, Tony, Jessica, all the BHT staff, kitchen staff and everyone else dedicated to making our lives better!

This place was phenomenal. I learned so much about myself and my addiction. The doctors, counselors, physicians, overall staff was so helpful and nice. They took time to listen to me whenever any problem arose, which was only once. I grew so much as a person and so much spiritually as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Excellent facility. Everybody is welcoming and very caring about your treatment. They make you feel very comfortable. The therapist truly care about your needs and most of the staff has been in the same circumstance so they do understand. I believe this is the best recovery place in the country. They not only treat the addiction but the underlining trauma that most likely led to the addiction. The level of expertise and care is unmatched by anybody else. It was a complete transformation for me and my life.

I would recommend this facility to anyone! The program is the best that I have been too in terms of understanding what your specific affliction is, and solutions to help work through it. The staff is very kind and respectful, and made me feel very welcome. The clinicians are all great, intelligent and caring as well. Best place I have been to by far!

Other details

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, substance abuse disorders are now classified as one of 10 essential health benefits that insurance programs must provide. Expanded reach and lowered prices mean more people have insurance plans. During assessment, teams work with clients’ insurance companies, ensuring that the care people plan to pay for with insurance is covered by the insurance programs these people have. That process helps protect families from surprise expenses, and it reduces their stress as a result. All information will be kept private and confidential.
